Avinomics is maintaining and constantly improving an SQL-based database of data relating to airline networks, fleets, financial performance, or macroeconomic exposure. The data are updated frequently, using a variety of proprietary, commercial, or publicly available sources of data. We seek a qualified individual to take over responsibility for the completeness, up-to-date-ness, validity, accessibility, and integrity of our data. The qualified candidate should offer at least a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent. The position will require in depth skills in data modelling (ERM), SQL, Java, and VBA. A basic understanding of the meaning and significance of common financial and macroeconomic indicators, a passion for precision and a strong ability to integrate into a small yet high caliber team is indispensable. Professional experience is not a must. Fluency in German and English is essential, while experience in the aviation industry is not required. We seek a full time colleague but would be prepared to consider part time models as well.

Avinomics’ airline investment strategies depend on vast amounts of top-quality, up-to-the-minute data about airline networks, fleets, financial performance, and macroeconomic factors. We constantly update our database using proprietary, commercial, and public sources of information. Avinomics is seeking an airline intelligence expert with experience in collecting and analyzing data. Our new colleague’s duties would range from routine, daily analyses of our data, to “slicing and dicing” information in the course of demanding consulting projects. We are seeking a qualified individual to make sure that our data are correct, complete, up to date, valid, and accessible. Apart from guaranteeing the integrity of our data, our airline intelligence expert would be responsible for relations with our data providers (Bloomberg, IATA, ACI, OAG, FlightGlobal, among others).

Furthermore, he or she must be capable of performing complex data analyses using Excel, MatLab or similar tools. The qualified candidate should be a self-starter, have at least a bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business administration, economics, computer sciences, or a similar field. Applicants must have a very good understanding of common financial and macroeconomic indicators, a passion for precision, and a proven ability to work in small, high-caliber teams. Fluency in German and English is essential and professional experience is preferred. Ideally, we are seeking a full-time colleague, but would also consider part-time models if suitable applicants preferred different working-time models.

Avinomics always welcomes general applications from candidates seeking to work in a small, high-caliber team on very complex problems and under high pressure. If you can build upon excellent academic and professional credentials in whatever discipline, and if you feel comfortable with analyzing delicate data utilizing demanding quantitative models, please do not hesitate to submit your application.
